Night at the Chateau Crosland

Hot night out on the town

The other day, some of our AWESOME friends invited us over to their house for dinner. As you can see it was a black tie affair! We had so much fun dancing, eating, and listening to soft music while sitting by the fire. The food was sooooo good!
Our wonderful hosts!

Our dessert was AMAZING! I started to eat it, and then decided I needed a picture of it.

They decorated their house for us, and made it such a fun evening. Thanks so much guys! You are the best. We're so glad to have you as our friends.

Trouble shooting

Hey everyone. I am trying to figure something out with another blog that I manage. I have it linked to the same email as this one, and I am the one who created it, but it is not giving me the option to edit the layout. And idea why?

A few extra pounds for the holidays (with minimal effort!)

So my friend Trish gave me this recipe, and I love it, so I thought I would share. It's the EASIEST recipe for Pumpkin Cookies. Yum yum!

1 small can, pumpkin

1 box "Spice Cake" mix (just the powder)

1/2 bag, chocolate chips.

Mix the pumpkin and cake mix. Now add the chocolate. Bake at 350 for 12-15 min on a greased baking sheet, and you're done!!! It's so easy and so delish. Hope you enjoy. Mmmmmmm...
(To add a few more inches, you can DOUBLE the recipe!! Cool, huh?) :)

TV

Does anyone know of a working TV for sale? Ours has this really annoying high pitched squealing sound. I'd love to, well...replace it. Let me know! Thanks!

Everyday it's getting better... a little better all the time.

So I don't ever blog, much to Kenna's dismay. The reason? I don't know. By the time I go to school, work, then back to school, have meetings, and make a trip to Wendy's for food, I just want to come home, and snuggle up on the couch to watch the Simpson's. Life is exciting, eh? Since we don't have school today (UEA) I decided to take this opportunity to do a few bloggy things. My friend Lacey showed me how to add all your links to my blog, and I am so excited about it. I have managed to stalk a few of my ward friends out. Pretty cool. I'd like to know how you all make yours look so cute, like a scrapbook page or whatever. Now it's time for a Johnson family update:
We are going to Moab this weekend. HEY! That will give me something to blog about! SWEET! We are both super busy with school, but hey, it's life right?
For those of you who don't know my cute Matt very well, he LOVES hockey. I'm pretty sure if I would let him, this apartment would be painted Maroon and Blue, with "Colorado Avalanche" symbols everywhere. I don't doubt each shelf would covered in bobble-heads, and pucks (oh don't worry...it's already begun. I just try to keep it under control ;) Last year we both helped with the UVU Hockey team a lot, and loved it. Unfortunately, due to some selfish people trying to feed their own ambitions, UVU's wonderful team was destroyed, and what remains is an embarrassment. The former coach, who we just love, is now coaching the Payson High School team. The coach asked Matt if he could help coach, and of course he was on it! He went to his first practice and game this week. I'll have to get some pictures and post them. It's so fun to be a part of it again.
I had foot surgery a few...months ago. It was for an ugly bunion that is now in heaven. It looks pretty good now. I get handicap parking, which I take FULL advantage of. I still feel like I should limp when I go into stores so people don't think I am a faker. Well, let's be honest with ourselves...I don't need it most of the time, but hey...why not? If the parking lot is full, and there are 18 reserved parking spots, I let that little white wheelchair guy in the blue box lead the way! He is my new best friend. The school let's me park for free, just cause I have that tag. I could get used to this. Maybe they could paint my name on one of the stalls...I'll look into it.
My sister Shauna had a beautiful baby girl a few weeks ago. Hey name is Rachel Lee Farnsworth. She is so presh. I told them they should name her Amy Elizabeth Hall Johnson Farnsworth, but it didn't fly. Maybe next time.
Wow, I am thinking of so many things I could write about...but I'm really hungry. Peace.

Under construction...but I'm trying!!!/ A plea for help

Ok, I admit I'm not the best blogger in the world. In fact, I stink at it (pretty bad). I have spent the past 20 minutes trying to figure out how to a: make it look cuter (Matt hasn't seen the pink yet...hee hee) b: add my own slide show, c: add a list of you, my favorite friend's blog links so I can look at them easier. I have come to the conclusion that...I am clueless. Of the things I know a lot about, blogging did not make the list. Any and all help, advice, and sympathy is welcomed. I'd love to update this thing with pics from Matt and my 1 year anniversary, or the moth that just died in the light fixture in my living room. So many fun things.

Deaf Studies Today Conference

Recently in April, UVU once again help the bi-annual (every 2 years, right?) Deaf Studies Today conference. It was a lot of fun. They had workshops about Deafness, (they had a performance about Deafness at the end that was amazing!!) interpreting, Deaf education, etc. it was really cool. In this picture from left to right is Matt, Me Laura Jayne Eastley, Anthony Natale, and Dale Boam. Laura Jayne is one of my most favorite people from school. Anthony Natale is a famous Deaf actor, and Dale Boam is one fo the teachers in the Deaf Studies Program.
This is Matt and I right before the final performance. I totally dragged Matt along...
Other well known Deaf people. They were way cool.
Oh yeah...this is Ben Duffy. This was at the Clubs Banquet. I just had to make sure this made the blog.

UVU ClubsClosing Banquet

This past year in school I was the President of UV Clubs. It was a learning experience for sure. We had an awesome closing banquet, and here are some pictures. la de dah.

Just another day in paradise

So the other day Matt and I were going to a family baptism. Matt told me we were going up early, but wouldn't tell me why. I LOVE surprises, and this one was especially excellent. We had so much fun at the zoo, just walking around and acting like kiddos (well, some of the time). The white alligator was pretty cool. We sat around waiting for it to move, but it just sat there chillin under the water...but THEN just as we were leaving, it moved, and came up for air. I, of course had to get a look, knocking children out of my way so I could have my peek. That's what they get for being small. :) We had so much fun that day!

Over spring break Amy and I were able to take a trip back to Washington DC and New York. We had so much fun seeing all the history and sites. We were also able to visit with Bob Bennett and . It was amazing to see the architecture in the construction of both the buildings in Washington as well as many in New York. The trip was so fast and we wish we could have seen a little more, but we saw so much and enjoyed it immensely.

New York was such a blast. We saw the statue of Liberty , The Empire State Building, The Chrysler Building, Time Square, Wall Street and so much more. I was so excited to see the restaurant that you always see in Seinfeld (Which is my favorite TV show). We also (and when I say we, I really mean Amy) were so excited to see the Broadway Musical "Wicked". It was a lot of fun.

Finally Updating something

As we role into March, Amy and I have been very busy with school and work and it has been one heck of the last couple months. We are very excited for our upcoming trip to Washington DC and New York. We will definitely put pictures on here, the only question is when. This picture is from a UVU Basketball game the other night and then we went to the UVU Hockey Alumni game, and while neither of us are alumni, we have been involved with the team for a little while and I am gunning for the position as club president. It will rock! The UVU Hockey team is really good and very fun to watch (obviously it is hockey). Thanks for looking at our blog and we will hopefully update it soon!
